Standard School Attire

Dress Code

Tops  

DES sponsored Spirit Shirts may be worn any day of the week.  All other shirts…
• must have short or long sleeves with a collar.
• must be any solid color with no writing, pictures, or images.
• may have logos or manufacturing trademarks no larger than two inches.
Shirts should be tucked inside pants, shorts, or skirts.
Shirts should be appropriately sized – not tight fitting nor baggy – with no holes or tears.

 
Bottoms  

All pants, shorts, capri pants, skirts, skorts, and jumpers must be navy blue, black, or any shade of khaki.  (no jeans or cargo pants)
Clothing should be appropriately sized – not tight fitting nor saggy – with no holes or tears.
Students may wear leggings under skirts or shorts.

 

Outerwear  

Hoodies, jackets, coats, hats, and gloves must be put in classroom lockers or backpacks during the school day.
Lightweight solid colored sweaters, fleece, or sweatshirts (no hoods) may be worn over collared shirts if needed.

 

Footwear  

Appropriate footwear must be worn at all times.  Tennis shoes are an excellent choice for safety reasons.  (no house shoes)
Laces on shoes must be tied.
Accessories  
Accessories should be school appropriate and not a distraction to instruction.
Head coverings such as bandanas cannot be worn during the school day.
